Ah-huh. Totally useless information; I know. Couldn't resist. Haha. But interesting ain't it?

Was watching Crash Test Mummy on Discovery for a while (For those who aren't familiar, it's a show where real-life Mummies get a weekend off and hand over their duties to family members/friends who think that parenting is easy & foolproof). Most times, the family members/friends have their perceptions debunked. Well, that's what the show is all about anyway.

The concept of this show totally reminded me of a recent article I read on The New Paper. The one which recounted a male primary school teacher who got caught for shoplifting. He told the police officer who arrested him that he was actually in a daze. And attributed it to stress at work. Then came the punchline from the police officer. He said something along the lines of

"What kind of stress do primary school teachers face?"

Of course I got kinda pissed at first. Then I complained to my brother. To which he replied, "I always hear that from people". And that got me silent.

On hindsight, I couldn't care less. I believe that whatever it was that got me into teaching will be enough to keep me going in dificult times. For e.g, times of stress. Oh wait! Primary school teachers don't face stress!! What am I talking about? -.-

On to happier things. :>

Japanese word of the day: すごい, sugoi, adj.
1. amazing; wonderful.
2. awful; terifying.

the former is more frequently used rather than the latter. And すごい isn't it? How a single word can be used to express two qualities at opposite ends of a spectrum..
