Not listening to any song right now.

And you won't believe this. Cos I don't either.

Due to the maddening boredom I was subjected to last night, I had a brilliant idea of how I could fill up my free time.

I am now in the midst of doing the English subtitles for Pika*Nchi; a Japanese movie.

All because.. back when I bought the VCD many years ago, ( close to 5 years now..wow!) I was basically left with no choice.
Either I got the VCD without subtitles or I don't get it at all.

And knowing the ever-impulsive, even hormonal me 5 years ago, I just got it.
And watched it without really understanding.
LOL.
I feel embarrassed now.

OK, so this post was supposed to enlighten us about the pains of doing the subtitles.
Actually, it's not really that difficult.
Just that it's really time-consuming.

I spent the whole of last night; forgoing sleep to first figure out how I could change the format of the files on the VCD to a format whereby I could work on the subtitling.

Downloaded some programs and waited for quite some time for the conversion to be completed.
Then I could start subtitling.

It was then that I realised how tedious it gets.
It's actually just a matter of typing in the subtitles and then fitting them into the clip. But what makes it tedious is the timing.

And after working for quite a number of hours last night, this morning, afternoon and evening, guess how far I've come.

Just a mere 11 minutes of the movie.
Hahaha.

I actually enjoy doing it, surprisingly. And I'm quite upset that this brilliant idea of spending time hit me so,so late into my vacation. Damn.

Whatever it is, wish me luck.
I'll update when the movie has been fully subtitled.
