Let's backtrack to yesterday! Had a visit to ITE College East at Simei and we sat in in some of the classes. And it was impressive. From the facilities that they have to the education that the kids receive. I was sold. And I think that JC kids should envy the ITE students for the education is not only thorough; it is practical and really useful. Seriously speaking, I wouldn't have minded going to an ITE. Don't get me wrong, JC education was wholesome. But on hindsight, the Physics and Chemistry I learnt in JC could have been much, much more meaningful (and hence better-appreciated) if I had half the exposure that the ITE students have to the more technical and physical aspects of the science. Well anyway, I met Faizah after the visit and we felt like watching a crappy funny movie. So we watched What Happens in Vegas. It was funny and in the end, it was sweet as well. :) Then we walked all around City Hall and then met Yano for the sole purpose of going back home together. Haha. And then, there was today. Had an induction programme (day 1 of 2(!!)) organised by the Teachers' Network. We were sitting down in the LT and listening to speech after speech after speech. All the way from 8.30 to 4.30. And yes, tomorrow will be a repeat of today. -.-"" I get bored just thinking of it. But, there were quite a few useful takeaways from all the talks, so it wasn't all that bad in the end. So today, whilst being subjected to endless talks, Yas had the brilliant idea to go out after school. So out we went! Upon Szu Ling's recommendation, we watched Accuracy of Death. I had no inkling of what the movie was about but we just went with it anyway. It was good. And I really enjoyed it. Darkly humourous and I simply love the way the story is beautifully woven together. Personally, I always wondered just what was the deal with Takeshi Kaneshiro. I just couldn't understand the hype about him. And I've always thought, "big deal that he can speak japanese and chinese". But after the movie today, I think I have come to a small understanding of how his extensive fandom came about. Not that I have become a fan. Seriously, not yet. Ok, then we went back home. Sure did have a lot of fun today. Good fun that you can only have when you know that you're done with school and that you're prolly not gonna be able to enjoy yourself like this once you start work. Sweet. Btw, remember the picture of the orange, yellow and white poppies growing in a field that was in a park in Japan? Well, I sent Shota that pic asking him if he's ever been there or not. And he said that he has been to that park before and he lives near the park too. ( ̄へ ̄) lol. |
