I know everyone has got certain insecurities about themselves, but I can't help feeling annoyed when people repeatedly 'announce' or rather lament about their flaws or shortcomings in harsh ways that degrade and insult them. -I think it's okay if you do it candidly, but if you really take it so seriously, then it's a cause for worry, isn't it?- And this despite them being constantly reassured by loved and close ones that seriously, there is NOTHING majorly wrong with them. I'm not saying that I'm totally at peace with myself and that I have no insecurities about myself whatsoever. Plus, I guess it takes loads of confidence and self-acceptance (which is really hard to come by, I know) to be totally cool about your body/face/abilities etc. (Well, unless you're just born perfect :] so good for you!) But, please. Don't let stupid comments from people who barely know you to affect you so much till you start hating yourself and who you are. And for God's sake. Stop looking to compare yourself to others just so that you can find something else to hate about yourself. That's really sad. And if that is how you react to such shallow thoughts, it only reflects how your thoughts are as shallow, doesn't it? |
